How Tracking Links work

Last updated August 25, 2025

Tracking links are a great way to alleviate phone support for your team and store locations, during the delivery. Each tracking link gives the end-users real-time status updates and they can view where the driver is on a map.

End-diners receive a tracking link, and these links can all be branded and customized to fit your business needs.

Each tracking link includes a footer image field, where you can have this link out to an external URL.

Once a delivery is completed, if there is a proof-of-delivery photo, we replace the map with this image.

Important considerations:

  • What information do you want to show on the tracking link? For example you may not want to share the driver phone number, so that your drivers are not getting phone calls while driving.
  • What do you want to use for the header and footer images? Do you want to use these to link out to a special promotion to drive more catering orders, or maybe invite users to join your loyalty program.
  • When do you want to send tracking links and SMS notifications? We include 2 SMS messages per delivery. We recommend sending these when drivers are assigned, and when an order is marked delivered.
💡

When Tracking Links are enabled, your end-users will no longer receive tracking links from external fleets that are doing the delivery.
